Day 10: Favorite thing about him/her?
Emily: “Just like the last post, figuring out what my favorite thing about Jen is not going to be easy because there is never going to be any one thing. My favorite thing about Jen is her ability to know what I need to hear when shit gets tough. My favorite thing about Jen is her adorable face and how good it feels when she laughs (especially at me). My favorite thing about Jen is how she sees me in her future. My favorite thing about Jen is her goals and dreams in life. My favorite thing about Jen is her sense of humor, and all of the tiny little inside jokes we have. My favorite thing about Jen is the time before bed, when we’re watching Gigolos. My favorite thing about Jen is her family. My favorite thing about Jen is her motivation for wanting to be with me. My favorite thing about Jen is the way she writes (especially when it’s to *me*). My favorite thing about Jen is that smile I get during tender moments. My favorite thing about Jen is when we watch Glee together via webcam/Hulu because we can’t watch it together in person. My favorite thing about Jen is the way she worries about me. My favorite thing about Jen is the morning text messages I get. My favorite thing about Jen is when she says my name. I’m sorry that I couldn’t pick one thing, but when it comes down to it darling, you’re my favorite.”
Jen: “One of the things that first attracted me to Emily was the openness of her heart. It was evident the first time that I talked to her. I told her a secret about myself and instead of being repulsed or taken aback, she was impressed and excited. I know it might not seem like a big deal or something that would draw me in or tell me much about her, but in truth, it was the first thing she said that I paused and said to myself, “Wow, this girl is unlike everyone else.” From that point forward it has been the open kindness of her heart that has pulled me into loving Emily and has made me feel so very safe in the context of our relationship. It is this sense of security and loving acceptance that has astonished me and has in turn, opened my heart up in ways that I didn’t even think were possible. She is, truly, one of the best people I know, and it is through loving her that I become the best version of myself. Her heart, truly is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever experienced and every day I feel blessed and lucky that she loves me back, it is, without a doubt, my favorite thing about her. Ok, it’s either that or its her dynamite red hair…nope, definitely the heart.”
